That's Right! Outhouse Race!! Your Team can build what looks like an outhouse on wheels and enter by emailing us at molinebaptist@gmail.com We will send you the Rules, build specs and registration form. Join the FUN!!
Then Sunday at 1:00pm....The MAIN EVENTOUTHOUSE RACES! This is a benefit as the entry fee is a box of disposable diapers which will be given to needy persons by Project HOPE of Dorr! Enter Your Team by emailing molinebaptist@gmail.com for rules, build specs and registration form. JOIN THE FUN!!
Two Classes: Youth – Jr. High and High School – 13 to 18 & Adult – 18 and up
Maximum of 5 person, Minimum of 3 person team with a rider, 2 pushers and 2 assistants/backup pushers – Primary building material will be wood framed with wood, and/or heavy cardboard walls. The outhouse must be built with a minimum 36” x 48” base, have 3 walls and a doorway, no door, and must have a roof. The riders’ seat must be firmly attached to the base. The outhouse must have two persons pushing. Minimum height is 6’ from the ground to peak of roof. Max height 8’ from ground to highest point. Maximum width 7’ including push bars. Max Length 6’ including push bars. Push bars must be permanently mounted to the outhouse. The outhouse must have one helmeted rider sitting on a toilet seat with reading material and a roll of toilet paper. The rider may not assist in the movement or steering of the outhouse. The pushers should wear knee pads, elbow pads, and MUST wear bicycle style helmet. The maximum tire size is 24”. Tire setup needs to be balloon style air filled, axle mounted non-steerable tires. (Remember race is on grass, off road)
Each outhouse must have a "name"; the name is to be displayed on each side of the outhouse (also front and back display is allowed). Sponsors names may be applied anywhere on the outside of the outhouse. The name and theme of the team has to be in good taste. No inappropriate name or theme will be allowed. NO vulgar language or pictures allowed.
The outhouses must pass inspection before allowed to race. Inspection of outhouses will begin at 3:30pm Saturday for the youth teams and 9:30am Sunday for the Adult teams. Failure to be in place for inspection will result in disqualification.
Each team will participate in the Parade of Outhouses before the Sunday race. (Voting will be done during parade for Best Themed, Most Colorful, People’s Choice, and Crazy Dressed Team)
• Push power only.
• Race will be up and down a marked course in lanes.
• Division races in an elimination style tournament.
• Limit of 24 teams in each division. If an odd number enter a drawing will be held for who has a pass.
• Top finishers in each heat race will race for the Grand Championship Sunday afternoon.
• Team Trophies for 1-3 in each division, Prizes for Best Theme, Most Colorful, People’s Choice, and Crazy Dressed Team. All team members will be given a gift from MBC.
• Mandatory meeting (1 person from each team) during inspection times.
The Race
1) Races are by elimination run in heats of 2 at a time.
2) Heat competitors will be determined by number drawing and placed in brackets.
3) Race course is 500 feet of twisty turny marked out lanes.
4) The course will be divided into 2 lanes. No outhouse may go into another's lane. If a collision occurs, both teams will return to their lane and restart the race.
5) During the race the rider must be seated over the hole and reading a magazine. All participates must wear bicycle style helmets
6) All outhouses are to be human-powered. No motors, bicycle-type devices, etc. are allowed.
Two classes will race:
Adult class = 18yrs old and up, Race on Sunday beginning at 1:30 (Entry and inspection @ 9:30am)
Youth class = 13 yrs old to 18 yrs, Elimination Race on Saturday beginning with entry and inspection at 3:30pm with Race starting @ 5pm with final four racing Sunday @ 1pm
